Join Penn Senior Lecturer Lorene Cary for an interactive discussion of her newest book, Ladysitting: My Year with Nana at the End of Her Century. Penn alumni and friends are invited to join the discussion live on-campus in Sweeten Alumni House or online. Professor Cary is a senior lecturer in Penn’s English Department. Her first novel, The Price of a Child, was about an 1855 fugitive liberated from the Philadelphia ferry and was chosen as the first “One Book One Philadelphia” selection in 2003. He latest novel, Ladysitting, is a moving journey through secrets, lies, and epiphanies, one that millions of families make each year, as they struggle together to share life--and face death.
This program, free and open to all Penn alumni and friends, is co-hosted by Penn Alumni Education and the Center for Africana Studies, and co-sponsored by Penn Spectrum Programs and the Black Alumni Society. It may be attended in-person or online.
