This past July, the Center for Africana Studies held its 31st annual Summer Institute for Pre-Freshmen. The program offers incoming freshmen with an interest in Africana Studies the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in field while taking courses with Penn faculty. Participants are also able to meet members of their class, work with graduate fellows of the program and become acclimated to the campus and life before the start of the academic year.
