Venise N. Adjibodou's research interests include Vodun, lived religion, and new materialism. Her work explores how lived religious experiences transform epistemology and practice in the daily lives of Vodun practitioners in Porto Novo, Benin. She is also interested in new materialist interpretations of Vodun ontology.
In addition to her Ph.D. in Africana Studies and Religious Studies, Venise also holds a B.A. in English, an M.A.T. in Middle School Humanities, and an M.T.S. in African Religions, and a certificate in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies.
