Iyone Agboraw is a postdoctoral fellow in Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania.
She received her PhD in African Studies from the University of Oxford. Her doctoral research utilized an interdisciplinary approach to investigate how Nigerian higher education students and recent graduates read and respond to uncertainty. Her doctoral thesis foregrounded the emotional/mental health response to uncertainty.
She graduated with a distinction from the MSc in Comparative and International Education at the University of Oxford (2018). During this course, she completed a dissertation interrogating how African graduate students studying in the United Kingdom read and respond to uncertainty. She also holds an MSc in African Studies from the University of Oxford (2017) - during which she completed a dissertation investigating the diagnosis and care of autism in Ghana. She holds a BA from the Institut d’etudes Politiques de Paris - commonly known as Sciences Po Paris (2015).
She will be spending her fellowship expanding upon her doctoral research.
