NSF GRFP supports PhD students pursuing research in science, STEM, STEM education, and the social sciences. The NSF further describes that the purpose of the GRFP is to help ensure the quality, vitality, and strength of the scientific and engineering workforce of the United States. The PhD fellowship stipend is given over three years to support students as they pursue doctoral studies and research.
Marc Ridgell is currently a second-year PhD student finishing coursework, who applied for the GRFP with help from CURF.
