Leah Harper is a William Fontaine Fellow of Africana Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to Penn, she attended Georgetown University where she received her M.A. in English Literature, and Hampton University - her "home by the sea" - where she received her B.A., magna cum laude, in English Arts. Leah's interests lie at the intersection of black feminism, the digital humanities, and new media theory. She is currently working on a documentary project on gentrification in Washington D.C.
