Join us for a new installment in the Work In Progress branch of our Africana Lecture Series. On October 1, 2024, Dr. Michael Hanchard will speak about “The State's Capillaries,” looking at the various local institutions and grassroot networks that sustain the functioning of the state. This also includes the regular, day-to-day, administrative functions. Combined, they all make up the lifeblood of a state.
