Former African Studies Chair and ASC Director Professor Wale Adebanwi (University of Pennsylvania) is returning to Oxford to speak about his latest book, How to Become a Big Man in Africa: Subalternity, Elites and Ethnic Politics in Contemporary Nigeria, in conversation with former ASC Director Professor Jonny Steinberg (Yale University).
This event is part of OSGA’s 20th anniversary celebrations, and we will be hosting a group of returning African Studies alumni. The book talk will be followed by coffee/tea and a chance to chat with our alumni. Please do join us in welcoming back Wale, Jonny and former African Studies students!
